Amazon Prime V movie Review
The big release Bollywood action movies of this weekend
was the out and out Telugu action thriller called "V" starring Nani and Sudheer Babu
in lead roles, directed by Mohana Krishnaindragati. I manage my expectations to be transported to the world they intended to design. What I mean by this is that I know the product I am signing up for a commercial action thriller with two capable stars. Pitched
as Nani's 25th film I read a comment on one of his interviews that I resonate with-completely. Don't step in a Mani Ratnam film with Rohit Shetty sensibilities. Hence I was all eyes
and ears for the journey of "V" the film focuses on mysterious murders taking place with riddler-like clues supposedly carried out by the mysterious character played
by Nani and left for the celebrated and capable cop Aditya played by Sudheer Babu
what this leads to is a cat and mouse thriller between a supposed antagonist that loves to challenge his counterpart and a cop who cannot bear his capabilities being questioned. How the story develops into unravelling several truths and motivations forms the crux of the movie "V". Here's me telling you the good and bad aspects of the thriller in no particular order so that you guys can ultimately decide whether this movie is worth your time on amazon prime video or not.
Songs, Their Placement And Background Music
While I am an absolute fan of Amit Trivedi and his work I have
to say that the music of this film is extremely forgettable while both the
romantic tracks are melodious tunes the two-party songs honest to god are extremely cringe-worthy. I was just wondering if the baby touches me now was Hindi
movie songs would have been exponentially trolled online. There is a party song
that plays near the end of the film also which have lyrics that go Body Body Fun Kabaddi while these party songs were totally avoidable. I think it's the lyrics penned by Rama Yogya Sastri and Krishna Kant that made it worth. While people are
singing praises of the background score of the film composed by Thaman anyone who
has seen Ratchasima will know very well that the resemblance of its theme is uncanny in moments even identical to the one composed by Jibran while I was listening to
the background music I was getting constant flashbacks of Christopher.

Commercial Thriller Tropes
While exactly knew what I was signing up for there are elements
of a commercial action thriller that I totally bought and connected with while this brings out the debate whether or, not films have to be catered to the particular medium in which they are presented in several moments especially the entry
sequences of both Nani and Sudhir Babu were internally whistling and cheering and envisioning what the atmosphere would have been like in theatres. The film
visually is spectacularly short and credit goes to cinematographer P. G. Vindha thrillers
usually have the tendency of making each frame so dark that the characters and their features are often not captured on camera. In "V" however, each frame is lit with attention to detail to even the trail of smoke with respect to Nani's
character. The stylized nature of capturing various moments including especially
the hero-like worship of both the stars was like single screen theatre gold.
Independent Romantic Angles
There are various moments in this action thriller where the narrative came to an unprecedented and abrupt halt with respect to the
development of the storyline. Both the romantic storylines while performed brilliantly in each interaction often did not lend into developing the story or
moving it forward especially the track involving Nivetha and Sudhir. Their sequences
and the interaction with Nivetha's family are mostly presented as comic relief while Nivetha who plays a Purva an individual fascinated by crime presents clues to
Sudhir in various instances these interactions don't develop into anything
concrete to the effect of the grand scheme of thinks Aditi Rao Hayderi and her character comes later in the picture to provide context regarding Nani's
character unfortunate truth to the storyline presented being that the creators take too long in revealing the motivation of the supposed antagonist. Something that makes it tough for audiences to root and empathize for them until the very
very end.

Performances
The technical details are said the performances of the ensemble cast are praiseworthy. Nivetha's character Purva is written in such a the manner that it can easily come across as overbearing and annoying, however, the
actor lends an undeniable charm to the character that makes her believable as
well as the relationship plausible. Aditi Rao Hayderi as a surprise package
effortless and extremely convincing. If you won't be taken aback by her enchanting the beauty you've made of something bottles is still in the quest of acquiring. The film undoubtedly is catered towards the two leading heroes. Sudhir Babu is Aditya
a celebrated successful and confident cop does a brilliant job. He stands out especially in the action sequences for the quality and athletic ability he possesses, it is Nani however who steals the show for the common folk who haven't seen
many of Nani's films and their only context is the "Jersey" the transition to playing the role he has played in "V" from that very context gives you an idea of the range he possesses. Playing two characters absolutely polar-opposite to one another with
absolute ease Nani's presence is intimidating, channelling his anger through the means of sarcasm, Nani has this husky tone and undeniable aura that stands out in
the film as its strongest quality, a true talent there is absolutely no doubt about it.

Screenplay
It is the film and its screenplay that really ties it down from soaring. The placement of the songs in the film disrupts the flow of the storyline in order to provide context to the motivation or the origin story long story narrations take place that doesn't lend more to the character and who he is but are catered at showcasing a technically polished sequence, nothing to do with the man's internal journey there is one narration where a character spills out information as fast as the
teacher in the school where you couldn't match her base when you wrote down the notes, simplistic and very amateur connection of the dots in this thriller makes it a predictable watch and most importantly drags the narrative causing exhaustion rather than an edge of the seat experience. Nani and the several interactions he has with strangers in
this film stayed with me from an insurance agent in a train to a passenger in a but obsessed with South Korean thrillers while using his intimidating presence through the use of sarcasm and a hint of truth underneath those words any successfully
petrifies these characters. These are hilarious sequences that are a combination
of good writing and Nani's acting skills there is one sequence as well where the characters cross paths with one another that leads to a feeling of so close yet so far that
is shot and blocked brilliantly the problem with this thriller is that it became
what I feared the most the star power overbearing what should have been it is the prime focus.
The Storyline And The Characters
While it is an exhilarating watch in moments these sequences are fleeting and few and far between while I agreed to
suspend reality even when Nani threw his bullets in one scene and ate candy instead and a running chase sequence commenced from Andheri East and somehow in
no time they were in front of Victoria Terminus. It is undeniable that "V" is a predictable thriller that has its moments but falters holistically to be a memorable film for the ages and that was a review guys, write down in the comments
